Monday, Wed, Fri:  Core Knowledge

Finish Composition Project - if work is not finished in class it must be done at home.

6th & 7th due:  Fri 2/17 by the end of class

8th due:  Wed 2/15 at the beginning of class.

All classes rhythm and tempo review.  Read short story.

 

Tues. & Thurs.:  Choir

Congratulations to 3rd Period!  They won the movie party for having Medley #1 memorized first!

Auditions for all solos will be this week.

The next contest for Medley #2 (Fiddler on the Roof) starts Tuesday.

Monday, Wed, Fri:  Choir

6th&7th:  6th grade on field trip Mon & Wed

7th grade watch scenes from My Fair Lady

Contest:  The first class to memorize Medley 1 will get a movie party during class TBA

Fri:  finish Medley #1 in Broadway book, auditions for "Rain in Spain" solo

 

8th grade:  goal - learn "Music of the Night" by 2/13 for special reward

At this point sopranos and altos have learned their parts, so this week basses will have an entire class period to learn their part while sops and altos do a rhythm project.

 

Core Knowledge:  Tuesday & Thursday

Finish rhythm composition; start to add notes to the rhythm on staff paper.  Students will have a chance to perform their compositions themselves or have Mrs. Dobbins perform it for them.

 

Rhythm practice:  6th & 7th level 2, 8th level 3

Finish "The Water is Wide" - final draft due 2/1

Start rhythm composition - 8 measures

8th grade:

Start rhythm composition -- 12 measures

Broadway - finish medley 1, start memorization

Continue work on song "Music of the Night", begin song "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"
