RMCA Home School Support Program for Grades K-8

 

WELCOME to all Pikes Peak area home educators, regardless of district of residence.  Students must be five by 9/15/2011 for kindergarten and six by 10/1/2011 for first grade.  We offer a one-day a week academic and enrichment program that works in partnership and compliments the goals of home schooling families.

SCHEDULE:  8:00 – 3:00 PM each day

CLASSES MEET: 
Monday:  Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades  
Tuesday:  1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades
Wednesday:  Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades
Thursday:  1st, 6th guys, 6th gals and 7th/8th grades

LOCATION:  3525 Akers Drive, off North Carefree, between Peterson and Marksheffel

DATES:  August 15, 2011 to May 11, 2012  

CLASSES:  Interactive, hands-on learning including Core Knowledge Science, Art and Language Arts, Critical Thinking Skills, and PE.  Music for grades K-5; grades 6-8 have Interact classes/clubs with team activities such as Reader’s Theatre.  Character traits emphasized.

CURRICULUM/SUPPLIES FEES:  A $15 supplies fee per student covers all materials for the program. A lending library of curriculum to borrow for home use is also available.

STANDARDIZED TESTING:  ITBS testing provided for grades 2 – 8 free of charge.
 
UNIFORMS:  All RMCA students wear uniforms in compliance with Board policy.

FIELD TRIPS:  Optional field trips are offered several times a year
